Ilani Casino opens new sportsbook in Washington State

It will become the 10th tribal casino in the Evergreen State to offer sports betting.
The Ilani Casino, developed by the Cowlitz Indian Tribe and Salishan-Mohegan, has opened a new sportsbook, becoming one of 10 casinos in Washington State where gamblers can place sports wagers.
The Evergreen State does not allow online sports betting, so gamblers must use brick-and-mortar casinos to place wagers. All 10 Washington State casinos that offer this sportsbook service are tribally owned.
Ilani Casino celebrated the addition of its sports wagering section with an early November event featuring Seattle’s offensive tackler Walter Jones.
Ilani VP of Marketing Tom Teesdale said the casino’s new sports wagering section will feature the region’s largest video wall, which is 68 feet long and 14 feet high. Teesdale commented: “We got CO2 cannons when teams score, crazy graphics across the screen and prizes.”
Furthermore, guests will be able to wager on any major sporting event, from the World Cup to the World Series to the Super Bowl.
Visitors can place wagers in two different ways when entering the Ilani premises: with an employee at the sportsbook counter or individually at one of around 15 sports kiosks. Both the counter and the kiosks are open 24/7.
People can begin ‘building their bet’ online before entering the casino and head to a kiosk to place the bet when they arrive, according to Ilani’s website.
Teesdale believes that the new sports gaming section will allow for ‘another experience’ for guests at the 400,000-square-foot casino. The Ilani also features 3,000 slots and 75 gaming tables as well as 18 different restaurants, including Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse.
The casino’s Stadium Sports Bar and Grill seats over 100 people, and a video DJ performs for Monday night football games.
