Catawba Two Kings Casino in North Carolina opens 24-hour sportsbook
The 17-acre temporary casino now offers an on-site sportsbook featuring 30 kiosks.
The Catawba Two Kings Casino in North Carolina has opened a 24-hour sportsbook providing players the chance to place bets on their favorite teams at the new 17-acre temporary casino.
The casino features a branded sportsbook, agent and teller services with betting voucher redemption and 30 betting kiosks in the sportsbook and throughout the facility.
These kiosks can be accessed at allows wagers on auto racing, baseball, basketball, boxing, football, golf, hockey, mixed martial arts, soccer and other sports.
Catawba Nation Gaming Authority Vice President Trent Troxel said: “We’re very excited to bring a sportsbook and betting kiosks to the Catawba Two Kings Casino so our loyal patrons can enjoy sports wagering.”
The sportsbook and kiosks are powered and supported by International Gaming Technology (IGT) through an agreement with the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority.
The temporary Catawba Two Kings Casino is located on Interstate 85 just off Exit 5, which opened last July 2021 with 500 gaming machines before expanding to 1,000 machines.
This 30,000-square-foot facility will remain operational until the new facility is built. However, there is no timetable for the opening of the permanent facility.
The permanent casino has a total cost of $273m and is expected to be a 195,000-square-foot gambling site with a 1,500-room hotel as one of its main amenities.
In August, the National Indian Gaming Commission confirmed a federal investigation involving the Catawba Two Kings Casino.
WCNC Charlotte reached out to Catawba Nation to get more information, however, Catawba Nation Tribal Administrator Elizabeth Harris said they are working on a statement and would release it when finalized.
