FanDuel appoints new Chief Legal Officer

Carolyn Renzin is internally promoted from her role as Chief Compliance Officer.

FanDuel, a leading US sportsbook company, has announced the appointment of Carolyn Renzin to the position of Chief Legal Officer. Renzin will also continue in her role as Chief Compliance Officer for the company.

This new position will increase Renzin’s pre-existing responsibilities. As Chief Legal Officer, Renzin will be tasked with overseeing legal, risk, regulatory engagement, compliance and responsible gaming for the company. Her team is in charge of security, customer safety and compliance.

Renzin has a resume that has prepared her for these new duties. Aside from having served as FanDuel’s Chief Compliance Officer, Carolyn worked as the assistant general counsel for J.P. Morgan Chase and Co., where she worked as a regulatory litigator. She did this during the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis and carried out the bank’s legal functions from the office of the general counsel.

Previously, she had a string of compliance and investigations-related roles, including jobs at consultancy firms – Guidepost Solutions and Stillman, Friedman and Schechtman. Renzin began her career in the legal field, working as a law clerk for the Hon. Ronald M Gould at the ninth circuit court, which led to her becoming a litigation associate at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett.
