FlowPlay launches fundraiser for American Cancer Society

Online games developer FlowPlay has launched an in-game fundraiser in partnership with the American Cancer Society to provide hotel rooms for COVID-19 first responders.
Players of FlowPlay’s premier online casino game, Vegas World, can donate to the ACS by purchasing an in-game virtual charm.
The charm is branded after Hope Lodge, the ACS initiative to offer hotel rooms to emergency medical workers.
Nearly one in four cancer patients have reported delays in their care due to the hospital backup created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Because our Hope Lodge facilities are located near medical centers, we have a uniqueopportunity to support front line healthcare workers,” said Howard Heino, Vice President of Hope Lodge Operations for the American Cancer Society.
“We’ve always been about saving lives and we’re humbled to step forward during this unprecedented time in this special way. We’re extremely grateful to FlowPlay and the Vegas World community for their support in these critical efforts.”
The fundraiser begins 5 May and runs through 1 June.
“While many Americans are embracing social distancing, tight-knit communities are popping up in unconventional places like online games,” said Derrick Morton, CEO of FlowPlay. “Our Vegas World community never ceases to amaze me with their kindness and generosity asthey continue to support the ACS time after time.”
