Montana to roll out sports betting by early March

The Montana Lottery Commission expects to roll out sports betting kiosks by early March.
Sports Bet Montana kiosks will be in the field the week of March 9 which should allow for sports wagering in time for March Madness.
The lottery approved what sports can be wagered on.
They include professional or collegiate basketball, baseball, ice hockey, football, golf, soccer, tennis, boxing and motorsports.
Montana is home to a handful of universities with NCAA Division I sports programs.
The lottery also approved the types of wagers available for sports bettors.
The approved wagers are moneyline, over/under, in-game betting, parlay, spread, prop bets and future bets.
The lottery began taking applications late last year.
In order for a business to hold a sports betting terminal, it needs to possess a proper liquor license as well as a sports wagering license.
Around 1,400 establishments qualify to apply for a sports wagering license.
Bettors will eventually be able to wager mobilly on an app but must be inside the parameters of a licensed venue to wager.
Last July the lottery awarded Intralot an exclusive sports betting operator contract.
