Virginia casino revenue grows 44% to $82.1m for October

The Virginia Lottery has reported the state’s casino revenue for October 2025, as the three properties which report to the regulator combined to generate just over $82.1m, equating to an increase of 44% from the prior year period.
Slot machine activity accounted for nearly $60.6m of the state’s total casino revenue throughout October 2025, equating to a year-over-year increase of 43.3%, while table game revenue for the period totaled just over $21.5m and grew 45.8%.
Caesars Virginia, which officially opened its doors to residents on December 17, 2024, led all properties in revenue generated for October 2025, having increased its adjusted gross revenue (AGR) by 84.8% for a total of $33.6m. The Virginia Lottery first approved Caesars Virginia’s application for a casino operating license in April 2023.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth managed to generate $27.3m of AGR throughout the monthly period, equating to growth of 7.4%. Slot machines accounted for $19.5m of the property’s total AGR for October 2025 and increased 10%, while table game revenue for Rivers Casino Portsmouth grew 1.3% to $7.8m.
Hard Rock International’s Bristol property accounted for nearly $21.2m of the state’s total casino revenue, representing growth of 57.9%. The property reported a 59.1% increase in slot revenue to $17.7m, as well as table game AGR growth of 52.1% to $3.4m.
In total, the three properties combined to contribute close to $12.6m in tax payments to the state of Virginia, including $5.7m for the host cities and nearly $147,500 for the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund.
