MGM Resorts International has entered into a partnership with BetBlocker, a UK-based safer gambling charity, to enhance player protection initiatives across its properties.
The collaboration, announced today by BetBlocker’s Chief of Safer Gambling Partnerships, Pedro Romero, marks a new step in integrating digital wellbeing tools within the resort giant’s responsible gaming framework.
Under the agreement, BetBlocker’s free and anonymous gambling blocking software will be featured on MGM’s casino screens and responsible gaming resource pages.
The visibility aims to increase awareness of safer gambling tools among guests and employees, providing immediate access to self-exclusion options for individuals seeking support.
Commenting on the development, Romero stated: “This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to making safer gambling tools accessible, visible and stigma-free, ensuring that help is always within reach.” Romero went on to thank MGM’s leadership team for prioritising player protection.
Good to know: BetBlocker’s app allows users to block access to more than 90,000 gambling websites and 1,500 gambling apps, helping them control online gambling activity
The MGM partnership represents BetBlocker’s continued expansion in the US market. Earlier this year, the charity joined the National Council on Problem Gambling as its only Gold Non-Profit Member and formed a partnership with the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA), which represents approximately 90% of the legitimate US sports betting industry.
BetBlocker has also demonstrated notable international growth in 2025, with reported active users exceeding 150,000 globally, including more than 10,000 in the US. Brazil emerged as the charity’s fastest-growing territory, reaching over 20,000 active users following the launch of a Portuguese-language version.
