Scientific Games joins NCPG responsible gaming initiative
The measure discourages the giving of gaming products to children.
In the approach to the holidays, Scientific Games has announced that its lottery arm will again participate with the National Council on Problem Gambling’s (NCPG) ‘Gift Responsibly’ holiday campaign.
This year marks the fourth that the influential Las Vegas-based games developer and operator will be a part of the campaign, which seeks to reduce instances of gambling products being gifted to children during the holidays.
Scientific Games has used this opportunity of working with NCPG to integrate the initiative into its ongoing ‘Healthy Play’ program, which promotes responsible behavior through innovative projects. Ultimately, this program seeks to better educate players on healthy gaming practice, thereby creating a more discerning customer.
Said Carla Schaefer, Vice President of Responsible Gaming for Scientific Games Lottery: “The NCPG’s ‘Gift Responsibility’ campaign is perfectly aligned with the goals of our ‘Healthy Play’ program.”
Scientific Games is not alone in its support for the NCPG’s campaign. Lotteries across the US and Canada, and even in Europe and Australasia have taken onboard the recommendations of the campaign.
The NCPG was happy to have such a prominent player in the industry involved.
