LGCB reports August 2025 gaming revenue of $214.8m, increases 11.5%

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) has reported the state’s total gaming revenue throughout August 2025, as adjusted gross revenue (AGR) from riverboat casinos, land-based facilities and racetracks increased 11.5% year-over-year for a total of $214.8m
Having accounted for close to $160.9m of the state’s total gaming revenue for August 2025, riverboat casino AGR increased by 9.2%, led by L’Auberge Lake Charles which generated just over $30m and grew 15.7%. Golden Nugget Lake Charles was a close second after increasing AGR by 5.6% to $27.1m, while Treasure Chest Casino produced an August 2025 revenue of $14m and increased by 12.9% year-over-year.
L’Auberge Baton Rouge and Margaritaville Casino generated revenues of $13.5m and $12.6m throughout August 2025, respectively, equating to an increase of 2.5% for L’Auberge Baton Rouge, but a 13.3% decrease for the Margaritaville riverboat facility.
Caesars New Orleans, the only land-based casino hotel in Louisiana which currently reports to the LGCB, grew its revenue by 36.6% for a total of $25.8m for August 2025. Caesars Entertainment originally announced its $435m transformation of a former Harrah’s property on Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana was finally completed on October 21, 2024.

Good to know: Sweepstakes operator VGW was sued for approximately $32.47m by the Louisiana Department of Revenue on September 9, who are seeking to recover alleged unpaid sales tax from the entity via the lawsuit
Delta Downs accounted for $15.6m of the total AGR generated throughout August 2025, having increased its revenue by 11.1% from the prior year period. Louisiana Downs and Fair Grounds each witnessed decreases in revenue year-over-year, however, falling by 7.4% and 3.1%, respectively, for mirrored August 2025 totals of approximately $3m.
Evangeline Downs increased its revenue by 6.7% for a total of $6.6m, as the facilities combined to take in over 231,000 wagers across its slot machine portfolios for August 2025.
On August 4, it was announced Penn Entertainment’s Board of Directors had officially approved the appointment of former LGCB Chairman Ronnie Jones to serve as an independent, non-director member of the operator’s Compliance Committee.
Throughout his tenure as Chairman from 2013–2020, Jones oversaw the operational integrity of all gaming in Louisiana, including 15 riverboat properties, land-based casinos, four racetrack slot facilities and over 2,000 licensed video poker establishments.
