DraftKings runs NFL competition for Responsible Gaming Education Month

Key Points
- DraftKings is launching new campaign to incentivize customers to gamble responsibly
- People who use My Budget Builder and My Stat Sheet will have the opportunity to win NFL tickets
- Approximately 3.4 million customers have used My Stat Sheet to evaluate their gaming behavior
The American Gaming Association is highlighting the efforts of the gaming industry with Responsible Gaming Education Month, which will be taking place across September.
Members of the association like DraftKings are getting involved in order to promote responsible play.
DraftKings is incentivising its users by offering the opportunity to win NFL tickets to players who engage with its My Budget Builder or My Stat Sheet.
My Budget Builder went live in June 2025 and encourages users to set up financially manageable limits and guardrails around their account and habits.
The safer gambling tool builds on My Stat Sheet, which DraftKings launched last year – My Stat Sheet creates a personalized summary of a user’s play activity and has been used by approximately 3.4 million customers in that time.
The new sweepstake competition will be launched as part of Monday Night Football, while each subsequent week until the end of September will give viewers and bettors a new way to engage with responsible gaming as well as more opportunities to win prizes.
Good to know: In 2022, DraftKings launched its State Council Funding Program, an initiative offering state problem gambling councils $15,000 per year for three years, making up an overall commitment of $1.5m+
Lori Kalani is the Chief Responsible Gaming Officer at DraftKings and has said: “As a leading operator, we are committed to providing customers with tools that support responsible play and enhance their experience. This campaign recognizes and celebrates customers who use these resources, helping to foster a more informed and responsible gaming culture.”
DraftKings has reiterated its commitment to responsible gambling in its statement – it has also recently had to take steps to rectify areas where it has been found guilty of violations relating to credit card payments being used to deposit funds.
After paying a $450,000 fine to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, it confirmed that it was prohibiting credit card deposits for its online sportsbook and casino operations as of 25 August.
A statement from DraftKings’ Senior Manager of Regulatory Operations, Kevin Nelson, said that the infractions were as a result of a misinterpretation of the state law.
