Former LGCB Chairman Ronnie Jones to join Penn Entertainment Compliance Committee

Penn Entertainment’s Board of Directors has officially approved the appointment of former Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) Chairman Ronnie Jones to serve as an independent, non-director member of the operator’s Compliance Committee.
The operator’s Compliance Committee is chaired by an independent non-director member, Thomas Auriemma, and also includes newly elected members Johnny Hartnett and Carlos Ruisanchez.
Throughout his tenure as Chairman from 2013–2020, Jones oversaw the operational integrity of all gaming in Louisiana, including 15 riverboat properties, land-based casinos, four racetrack slot facilities and over 2,000 licensed video poker establishments.
“Ronnie is a well-respected leader in the regulated gaming space, and with his background and experience we’re pleased to add him as an independent member of our Compliance Committee,” Penn Entertainment President and CEO Jay Snowden said.
“Ronnie’s wealth of industry experience will be an asset to the important work of the committee, which is central to our longstanding commitment to gaming industry compliance and integrity.”
Good to know: Penn Entertainment completed the final settlement terms of its previously announced note repurchase transactions on June 20, resulting in an aggregate cash payment of approximately $233.5m
According to Penn Entertainment, Jones’ work as LGCB Chairman helped “lay the foundation of legislative support” to legalize sports wagering in the state, which eventually occurred in 2022 following his departure.
Hartnett and Ruisanchez were appointed to Penn Entertainment’s Board of Directors on June 17, said to bring highly relevant experience in digital and retail gaming by the operator.
