Nevada regulator issues Merkur Group manufacturing and distribution license

The German company previously held a license in the state more than 20 years ago.
Key Points
- Merkur Group has not held a license in Nevada since the early 2000s
- The company was also approved to pursue an acquisition deal with Gaming Arts LLC
Merkur Gaming US, which is a subsidiary of the German-based Merkur Group, has recently received a license from the Nevada Gaming Commission to manufacture and distribute its gaming products.
However, this is not the first time the company has been awarded a gaming license in the state of Nevada. Merkur Group entered Nevada’s gaming market when it was approved for a license in 1998.
But the company withdrew from the market in the early 2000s.
Merkur Group Chairman of the Management Board Lars Felderhoff commented, “This license represents a key strategic lever for expanding our international business and lay the foundation for a stable and successful long-term future for the entire group.
“The company has already achieved this in various European markets and across South America over the past decades.”
Chairman of the Supervisory Board Michael Gauselmann, who was a leader in the company when it was granted the first Nevada gaming license, said, “With approval from Nevada, this moment serves to highlight and underscore the Merkur Group’s legally compliant and forward-looking approach in all areas without exception.”
Furthermore, the Nevada regulator has authorized a merger acquisition deal between Merkur and Gaming Arts LLC, which is a gaming operator based in Nevada. The deal is expected to conclude early in this year’s third quarter.
Felderhoff said in closing, “The close and constructive partnership with Gaming Arts LLC has significantly contributed over the past months to successfully establishing all necessary prerequisites for the licensing as well as the upcoming acquisition.
“We are deeply grateful for the excellent cooperation.”
