Mike Dreitzer to become NGCB Chairman, resign as Gaming Arts CEO

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has officially announced Gaming Arts CEO Mike Dreitzer will assume the role of Chairman for the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), effective June 23.
Dreitzer will take over the Chairman position from Kirk Hendrick, who notified the NGCB and public officials of his resignation on January 23.
“Mike has an extensive background in gaming compliance and brings decades of industry experience to the role,” Lombardo said as part of an official release.
“I’m confident that Mike will lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board with integrity and honor, while furthering its recent innovation and progress.”
Dreitzer is set to step down from his position as CEO of Gaming Arts and assist with transition services according to Governor Lombardo’s office, a role he has held since 2018.
He has previously held leadership positions with Ainsworth Game Technology and BMM Americas, having also served as a Nevada Deputy Attorney General, advising both the NGCB and the Nevada Gaming Commission.

“I’m grateful to Governor Lombardo for his confidence in me,” Dreitzer said.
“I look forward to furthering the essential mission of the Board, while supporting its agents and staff to ensure the highest quality gaming regulation for our state.”
Hendrick stated handing the Chairman role to Dreitzer will be a “smooth transition,” sharing the two have known each other for over three decades. Dreitzer will complete the final 18 months of Hendrick’s four-year term as Chairman, but will remain with Gaming Arts and continue assisting the company through its pending merger with Merkur Gaming until June 23.
