Light & Wonder promotes Nathan Drane to the role of CPO
Former Light & Wonder CPO Rich Schneider will now serve as a Senior Advisor to continue contributing to the company’s product innovation and strategy.

Nathan Drane has been promoted to the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO) for Light & Wonder, having most recently served as CPO of the company’s gaming sector and first joining Light & Wonder during early 2021.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to take on this role with the company. This new centralized content organization formalizes our global strategy of building the world’s best games in every market on every intended platform,” Drane said.
“It provides us an opportunity to make data-driven development and roadmap decisions, gives us new opportunities to grow talent and drives efficiencies throughout the game-creation process.”
Drane served as CPO of Light & Wonder’s gaming sector for the previous 12 months, but will now oversee all game creation under one department according to Light & Wonder.
“I’ve personally worked with Nathan for many years, and I couldn’t be happier for him to share his leadership and vision with the entire enterprise,” Light & Wonder President and CEO Matt Wilson said.
“He has already been working with many across the business on our cross-platform strategy and has a clear and aggressive content roadmap that will ensure our continued success, positioning us for growth in the near and long term.”

Drane’s promotion is not the first appointment Light & Wonder has announced during 2025, as the company named Simon Johnson as the new CEO of its iGaming sector on January 9.
