NYS posts $54m in commercial gaming revenue for January
The state collected $12.8m in taxes last month.

The New York State Gaming Commission has published its statewide commercial gambling results for the month of January. During the month, the Empire State posted $54m in total gross gaming revenue (GGR).
The month’s GGR rose nearly $5m when compared to results from January.
Total GGR from slots in New York reached $37.3m during the month of January, rising by close to $4m year-over-year.
Table games contributed another $14.8m, while poker tables yield a GGR of more than $0.9m. Revenue from table games and poker last month reflected slight increase when compared to results posted in January 2024.

Last month, commercial gaming in New York paid more than $12.8m in gaming tax, nearly $1m more than what was paid during January 2024.

To date, 38 states have embraced regulated sports betting since the US Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) in May 2018, also known as the Bradley Act.
Voters in Missouri said yes to a legal sports wagering market, bringing the state one step closer to becoming the 39th state to welcome the market.
In other state news, the Gaming Commission’s Division of Charitable Gaming in New York State will debut a series of free monthly seminars beginning next week.
The first is scheduled for 10:30am Wednesday, February 12. Interested parties must register prior to the event.
Future classes will be available on the second Wednesday of every month.
These seminars offer municipal clerks and organizations an opportunity to learn more about state laws, regulations and rules that govern statewide charitable gaming.
