Daily fantasy sports (DFS) and social casino platform SportsMillions has announced its launch. The platform, which will offer a range of rewards including USD cash prizes, has been designed for sports fans of leagues including the NFL, NBA and NHL.
On the DFS side, SportsMillions offers Pick’em, which allows players to make lower or higher outcome selections based on player markets. If a player’s picks are correct, they have the potential to win up to 1,500 times their entry amount. SportsMillions also offers Blitz’em, a spin-the-wheel-based offering where a selection of auto-generated predictions are given to players from which they have the chance to win prizes.
Meanwhile, SportsMillions’ social casino gives players access to over 1,000 games, including classic slots and tables, with weekly games and jackpots also available.
Both the social casino and Blitz’em operate using a gold coin and sweepstakes coin payment system, while Pick’em operates by taking USD payments, allowing for both free-to-play and paid play.
Social casinos and sweepstakes are the headline topic of our January/ February issue of Gaming America. The vertical has found growing success in states where iGaming is still unregulated, providing a legal option for online play. However, some authorities, like the American Gaming Association (AGA), have cautioned playing with the platforms, due to their lack of regulation.
They cautioned regulators and attorneys to take “appropriate action” against those offering these services in a way that does not align with state regulations in an August memo.
