Nevada gaming win sees 2.2% year-over-year decrease for October 2024

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has reported the state’s total gaming win for the month of October, highlighting a 2.2% decrease year-over-year. Nevada generated just under $1.3bn in gaming win during the month, as the fiscal year-to-date (FYTD) gaming win reached $5.2bn, reflecting a 2.5% decrease from the prior year period.
Clark County generated the highest gaming win of any area in Nevada, reporting a total of just over $1.1bn but also decreasing 2.2% year-over-year.
South Lake Tahoe was one of only two areas in the state to see an increase in gaming win, rising 18.7% from the prior year period to be $20.8m during the month. The area’s FYTD gaming win total of $99.9m still equates to a 1.4% decrease year-over-year, however.
Carson Valley also reported an increase in gaming win during October, rising 1.9% and generating $11.5m throughout the month. The area is also the only market in Nevada to report a FYTD increase in total gaming win, reporting $46.5m for a rise of 1.2%.
The Las Vegas strip’s gaming win decreased by 3.1% from the prior year period for a total of $692.1m, while the Downtown area saw a year-over-year decrease of 11% after reporting $86.8m in gaming win during October.

Washoe County reported the second-highest gaming win in Nevada during October, seeing just under $91.3m generated but falling by 4.9% year-over-year. Reno led the way in Washoe County with a gaming win total of $68.2m, decreasing by 3.1% from the prior year period.
The final area to report total gaming win is Elko County, which decreased 6.4% year-over-year for a total of $31.8m throughout October. Elko County has generated $131.1m in FYTD gaming win, a 3.1% decrease from the prior year period.
