Maryland casinos report $160.5m in gaming revenue for October 2024

Maryland has reported the gaming revenue generated from its six casinos throughout the month of October, announcing an increase of just over $712,000 from the prior year period for a total of $160.5m.
The six privately-owned properties that accumulate the gaming revenue each period include MGM National Harbor, Live! Casino & Hotel, Horseshoe Casino, Ocean Downs Casino, Hollywood Casino and Rocky Gap Casino.
Of the six casinos, Horseshoe, Rocky Gap and Ocean Downs reported decreases in gaming revenue totals from what was generated during October 2023. Horseshoe saw a decrease of 7.5% year-over-year for a gaming revenue of just under $13.8m during October 2024, while Rocky Gap’s gaming revenue fell 11.1% from the prior year period for a total of just under $4.4m.
Ocean Downs decreased 10.8% from the prior year period, reporting its gaming revenue during October to be just over $7.3m.

Hollywood Casino managed to see the largest increase year-over-over of the three properties to do so, rising 7.3% for an October 2024 gaming revenue of $7.2m. MGM National Harbor saw an increase of nearly $1.9m from the prior year period to report just under $69.2m in gaming revenue during October 2024.
Live! Casino & Hotel reported a rise of nearly $875,000 from what was generated during October 2023, accounting for just under $58.7m in gaming revenue during October 2024.
Casino gaming contributions to Maryland also increased by 1.9% year-over-year, reported to be just under $68.6m during the month. Contributions to the Education Trust Fund during October 2024 rose by nearly $1m year-over-year for a total of $49.5m.
