- The casino fulfilled the requirements to have its license extended
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has renewed Wind Creek Bethlehem’s Category II stand-alone casino license, which will allow the company to continue operating Wind Creek Bethlehem casino in Northampton County for another five years.
The board said Wind Creek had fulfilled all the requirements necessary to have its license renewed and approved the motion by unanimous vote.
The PGCB said in a statement, “The decision to renew the license was based on a process utilized by the Board that enables both the operator and the public to provide information relevant to the renewal decision.”
Wind Creek Bethlehem is part of a chain of chain of Wind Creek Hospitality casinos. The company is owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama.
Its multiple casino locations include Wind Creek Atmore, Wind Creek Aruba, Wind Creek Bethlehem, Wind Creek Curacao, Wind Creek Montgomery, Wind Creek Wetumpka and Wa She Shu Casino in Nevada.
Good to know: Prior to the vote, the board opened the floor for public comment by holding a meeting in July
In other state regulatory news, the PGCB approved a $50,000 against Stadium Casino RE, LLC at the recommendation of its Office of Enforcement.
The board levied the fine against the operator for “permitting four individuals on the Board’s Self-Exclusion list to gamble” at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia.
In Pennsylvania, casinos are required to identify self-excluded players and “refuse gaming privileges and other gaming-related activities such as the cashing of checks or cash advances,” according to board regulations.
The PGCB first formed in 2004 and regulates various forms of gaming around the state, including video gaming terminals (VGTs), slots, table games, iGaming, sports betting and fantasy contests.
