Key Points

- Police said these are thought to contain fireworks components
The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa was recently evacuated twice after two “suspicious devices” were discovered inside, according to an Associated Press report.
The casino hotel was evacuated once on Sunday night and a second time Monday, officials told the AP.
Tribal police went on to note that these devices had “fireworks components” and described them as “crude concealed devices.”
Police said in a news release that one device was found in a men’s restroom near the casino “shortly before midnight” and the space was evacuated.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Disposal Team removed the device, and the casino reopened close to 3AM, officials said.
The second device was discovered the next day around noon in another men’s restroom. Following evacuation, the second device was removed and deactivated.
Police discovered the second device during its investigation into the first one.
However, police did not give specifics as to how dangerous the devices were or who left them in the facility.
Tribal police are working with the sheriff’s office as well as with the FBI to investigate the matter further. A motive has not been reported at this time.
However, surveillance video is currently under review, the report said. All casino areas are now open and available for guests.
The Seminole Tribe of Florida acquired the Hard Rock brand in 2007. Since Hard Rock’s founding, the brand has globally expanded to include more than 250 locations.
The company recently relaunched Hard Rock Bet in Florida, giving players statewide access to mobile sports betting.
