PGCB reschedules Wind Creek Bethlehem license hearing
The regulator will consider whether to renew licensing at Wind Creek later this month.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has rescheduled a previously canceled meeting that was set for June 27. The hearing to determine whether Wind Creek Bethlehem will be awarded a Category 2 slot machine operator license is now scheduled for July 31.
The hearing is open to the public and will take place at Bethlehem City Hall. The meeting will start at 10:30am local time.
During the upcoming meeting, the board will also open the floor for those who would like to make public comments.
“Citizens, public officials and community groups can choose to speak or submit written testimony. Following this proceeding, the board will ultimately determine whether the licensee remains eligible and suitable consistent with the laws of the Commonwealth and are otherwise qualified to have the license renewed for a five-year period,” the board said in a statement.
Those who wish to speak at the hearing need to submit a request beforehand. In-person and written testimony requests must be submitted by July 29 on the regulator’s website.
PGCB recently held a public meeting to levy $125,000 in fines against Wind Creek Bethlehem. The company was fined for 10 incidents involving underage individuals between the ages of 18 and 20. The board claimed that “underage individuals gained access to the gaming floor at the casino it operates” and that this occurred during a 20-month span.
Wind Creek Bethlehem is part of a chain of Wind Creek Hospitality casinos. The company is owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama.
Its multiple casino locations include Wind Creek Atmore, Wind Creek Aruba, Wind Creek Bethlehem, Wind Creek Curacao, Wind Creek Montgomery, Wind Creek Wetumpka and Wa She Shu Casino in Nevada.
