Players will have until next month to withdrawal funds from their accounts.

Two operators have pulled out of the state of Massachusetts and will cease to do business. Betr and WynnBet have decided to stop operating within the state.

Both companies have been licensed to operate around the state for less than a year.

Betr stopped operating in Massachusetts on February 16. The operator gained approval to cease operations by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) during a public meeting last week.

However, Betr players have until March 16 to remove their funds from their accounts. Those who have not withdrawn their funds by the deadline will be issued checks by the operator. Betr said it will mail the checks to “the last physical address the company has on file.”

WynnBet said it is currently working on ceasing its Massachusetts operations. The company confirmed it will pull its sportsbook out of several other states, including Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Though Massachusetts residents will no longer have the option to place bets through the WynnBet app, the company said it will continue to offer retail sports betting services at Encore Boston Harbor.

WynnBet released a statement through its website that outlined the reasons for shutting down several of its operations.

The company said, “For commercial reasons, WynnBet has decided to shut down mobile sports betting operations in Massachusetts.

“However, retail sports betting will continue to be offered by our related company at the sports book [sic] and kiosks located at Encore Boston Harbor.”

WynnBet went on to explain the process for retrieving account funds by saying, “Bets that were placed prior to the announced cessation, for events that occur after the 30-day cessation period February 12, will be settled and paid out according to the market result.

“For open bets that settle after March 12, the patron will be contacted by a WynnBet customer support representative.”

Any Wynn Rewards 'Compdollars' players have accumulated are still redeemable. Encore Boston Harbor, Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas will continue to redeem rewards for customers.

Players can place bets there through the casino’s kiosks.
