GVC Holdings has been named as the first official partner of national gambling self-exclusion tool PlayPause.

The multi-state responsible gaming solution will launch with GVC and MGM Resorts joint venture, BetMGM, to modernize and strengthen the effectiveness of the US gaming industry’s safer gaming programs.

PlayPause, which will be made available to operators and regulators via GeoComply’s new non-profit organization Conscious Gaming, will allow players to self-exclude across multiple states.

The tool will also make more data-driven decisions and provide insights into players who have self-excluded in a certain state but need protecting if seeking to play in another region, and streamline numerous state-operated self-exclusion databases into one single integration point.

GVC CEO Shay Segev said: "We are delighted to be the first official partner of PlayPause

“We believe the most responsible operator will be the most successful operator, and PlayPause's innovative, multi-state approach to responsible gaming in the US aligns with our firm commitment to providing our customers with the safest and most enjoyable experience possible."

Conscious Gaming trustee and GeoComply chairman and co-founder Anna Sainsbury, added: “To have such a high profile, responsible and fast-growing operator on board from the start is a fantastic endorsement for the PlayPause initiative.

“As an industry, it’s only by working together with all stakeholders that we’ll be able to ensure players have the necessary tools to foster responsible play.”
