Star Trek: The Next Generation, a slot game designed by London-based studio Atlantic Digital and based on the popular Sci-fi IP, has been launched exclusively on BetMGM Casino. The game is currently available in Michigan, with BetMGM intending to roll the game out across all states where BetMGM’s iGaming casino is available.
The game comes after BetMGM announced its partnership with Atlantic Digital in September. The deal would see Atlantic Digital produce slot games for BetMGM’s iGaming branch, with the online casino in Michigan getting its first result from the partnership in the form of a Godfather-themed slot game.
In a GI Huddle, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt spoke about BetMGM’s position in the iGaming market and the importance of partnerships for the company.
The Star Trek-themed slot uses the faces of classic characters from the TV program, including Sir Patrick Stewart’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Marina Sirtis’ Deanna Troi. The slot game offers five reels and five symbols, including high and low symbols as well as a scatter symbol. These symbols, naturally, reflect aspects of the IP.
The slot is the second to come from the partnership, with Atlantic Digital CEO Sam Hobcraft saying, “We are delighted to launch our second slot with BetMGM and it doesn’t get much bigger than Star Trek. We are very proud of this game and we have no doubt it will go intergalactic. Building on our already deep relationship with BetMGM, this is the start of many big titles to come in 2024. In the words of Picard, 'Make it so, number one.’”
BetMGM’s VP of Gaming Product & Content Oliver Bartlett added, “Star Trek is one of the biggest media franchises of all time... It is another perfect addition to our ever-growing library of games that can’t be found anywhere else in the United States."
