Pierre Bouchut moved into this spot to replace Stella David, who is now Interim CEO.

Entain has made several changes to its board by appointing new leadership in addition to appointing Stella David as Interim CEO after Jette Nygaard-Andersen stepped down last week. The company has named Pierre Bouchut as Senior Independent Director and Virginia McDowell as Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

Bouchut will step in to replace David, who held this role prior to her promotion to Interim CEO.

Other changes include welcoming Barry Gibson as Chair of the People and Governance Committee and Rahul Welde as a member of the People and Governance Committee.

Gibson took a moment to comment on Bouchut’s willingness to fill the position of Senior Independent Director and noted that his knowledge and experience made him the ideal choice.

He said, “On behalf of the Board, I am delighted that Pierre has agreed to take on the role of Senior Independent Director to replace Stella. His extensive board experience and knowledge of the Company makes him ideally placed for the role of Senior Independent Director.

“I am also grateful to Virginia and Rahul that they have agreed to take on these additional responsibilities."

Entain operates sports betting and gaming groups in 20 countries across five continents. The company offers sports betting, casino, poker and bingo for both the online and retail sectors.

The shift in leadership was triggered by Nygaard-Andersen's departure from the company last week. The company had faced criticism for previous M&A choices and faced declining stock prices, which have since grown notably following the former CEO's departure.
