DraftKings accounted for nearly half of the total.

Massachusetts has posted its gaming revenue for November, showing an increase of 14.4% in its total sports wagering handle from the month before.

Online sports wagering continued to increase in November, going up from $555.7m in wagers settled in October to $636.8m this month.

DraftKings alone posted nearly $320m in total sports wagering handle, which was nearly half of the total sports wagering handle in the Bay State last month. However, although total sports wagering handle increased from October, the total tax collected decreased from $11.8m to $9.8m in November.

Within the three retail locations offering sports wagering in Massachusetts, total sports wagering handle increased 10.6% from October. However, while MGM Springfield and Plainridge Park Casino posted an increase in total sports wagering handle, Encore Boston Harbor posted a 15.7% decrease from October.

When it comes to Massachusetts casino gaming, total table & slot GGR saw a month-over-month decrease, being valued at $94m, down from $96.7m in October.

Year-over-year on the other hand, this total represents an increase of 1.2%, as table & slot GGR has continued to rise year-over-year for the month of November since 2020.

Looking closer at November 2023’s numbers, all three casinos saw a decline in their table & slot gross gaming revenue when compared to October. Plainridge Park Casino’s table & slot GGR decrease was the highest at 9.4%.

Earlier this month, the Public Health Advocacy Institute and its Center for Public Health Litigation filed a class action lawsuit against DraftKings in the state of Massachusetts, owing to a bonus sign-up promotion that was advertised by DraftKings.
