GVC to help fund UNLV regulatory training program

GVC Holdings is to help fund a University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) online training program aimed to educate professionals on the regulatory challenges faced by the gambling industry.
The operator’s non-profit division, GVC Foundation US, which promotes responsible gambling, has gifted the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law with $256,000, who will develop an online training program for operators, regulators, lawyers and others who work in or around the gaming industry.
The classes, which will launch in the first half of 2021, will be created and taught by instructors possessing significant gaming experience, and will consist of eight classes designed to prepare professionals to meet regulatory and operational challenges faced working in the gaming industry.
University students can enroll in the classes regardless if they hold a law degree or not, with the initial courses to offer an introduction into gaming law and regulation, the legal environment for sports betting and corporate social responsibility in gaming law.
GVC Foundation US trustee Martin Lycka, who is also SVP of US Regulatory Affairs & Responsible Gambling for GVC Holdings, said: “The GVC Foundation US is proud to sponsor this innovative, online program that closely aligns with our Foundation’s focus on responsible gambling, sports integrity and compliance.”
