The complaints are in regards to its patented technology being allegedly duped.

Panda Interactive has filed two complaints against Sportradar and Genius Sports for ‘infringing its foundational sports betting and interactive streaming technology patents.’

The technology infringed in question is SportsCastr, a patent-protected real-time live and interactive video platform for sports with an ultra-low latency.

Panda Interactive has filed two separate complaints for infringement on its foundational interactive streaming technology patents.

The company claims that both Sportradar and Genius Sports provide a large amount of the same technological infrastructure to sports betting and related interactive video industries as they do.

The complaints were filed at the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Genius Sports and Sportradar. Panda Interactive is represented in the cases by King & Spalding LLP.

Panda Interactive’s Chairman Donald Schupak stated, “We have made substantial investments in the development of our technology and cannot tolerate having our patented technology used unfairly by others and against us.

“No one wants to see their own arsenal used against them in battle.”

Panda has launched a variety of video streaming products that incorporate its patented technologies, including the SportsCastr mobile app, which turned into Panda Interactive’s B2B Watch & Bet platform.

Panda Interactive’s CEO, Kevin April, said, “The confluence of media and sports betting is essential to the future of the fan-viewing experience.

“Panda developed its pioneering technology long before online sports betting was even legal in the US. Sportradar and Genius Sports are infringing on our patents and capitalizing on our groundbreaking work.”

Andrew Schupak, Panda Interactive’s Chief Strategy Officer, commented, “Panda’s technology is transformational for sports bettors and sportsbooks. By combining actionable betting odds with any live or on-demand broadcast, Panda’s platform eliminates transaction friction, reduces decision fatigue and increases fan engagement.”
