The Alberta resort has added a 38,000-square foot casino with slots, table games and poker.

Red Deer Resort & Casino has undergone a name change and celebrates a grand opening of its casino today, September 8. The hotel is still undergoing property upgrades as well.

Located in Central Alberta, the resort includes 241 guest rooms, 15 meeting rooms and a 53,000-square-foot conference center in addition to its new casino. Red Deer Resort & Casino claims that the casino and hotel expansion should increase its employment by 20%, and serve as an entertainment district for both residents and tourists in the area.

George Yammine, CEO of O’Chiese Business and Investment Center, which owns Red Deer Resort & Casino, commented, “The completion of the casino is a major milestone for us and the City of Red Deer. The casino will be a key driver of tourism and economic growth in the region, becoming a hub for entertainment for the region and beyond.”

The culture of the O’Chiese First Nation has influenced the design of the 38,000-square-foot casino by including natural elements like sunrises, prairies, the Rocky Mountains and an integrated waterfall. Water especially holds a spiritual significance to the Tribe.

The new Jackpot Casino will also include classic country music and feature 349 slot machines, table games and poker. The Winner’s Edge rewards program is also available.

Adrian Strawberry, Hotel Operations Manager with O’Chiese Hospitality, said, “We look forward to welcoming guests to Red Deer Resort & Casino. We have worked tirelessly to bring this project to fruition and we cannot wait for you to experience it.”
