He succeeds former Chair Gary McGann, who recently stepped down from the position.

Flutter Entertainment has officially confirmed John Bryant has begun his new role as the Chair of the company’s Board and as the Chair of its Nomination Committee.

The company previously announced Bryant’s appointment as the incoming Chair earlier this spring.

Bryant will take on his new duties effectively immediately and will replace former Chair Gary McGann, who stepped down August 31 from the Board.

McGann served as the company’s Non-Executive Director for nine years.

Bryant graduated from The Australian National University in 1987, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Business and Commerce. He later earned a Master’s from The Wharton School in 1993 in Finance and Strategy.

Bryant also holds an honorary Doctorate of Letters he received from The Australian National University that he gained in 2014 and attended Harvard Extension School and earned a certificate in cybersecurity.

Throughout his more than 30-year career, Bryant has served on several boards and has held various management and leadership titles.

He retired from Kellogg Company 2018 as its CEO and Executive Chairman after 20 years with group. Bryant first joined Kellogg in 1998.

Former Flutter Chair Gary McGann recently discussed Bryant’s extensive career by saying, “John has had a stellar career in Kellogg Company, one of the most internationally renowned companies in the world.

“He brings with him an enormous wealth of leadership experience in strategic, financial and operational matters.”

Bryant took a moment to commend McGann for his work on the board and wished him well going forward.

He commented, "I would like to thank Gary for his excellent stewardship of the Flutter Board during his tenure as Chair and previously as Non-Executive Director.

“His expertise, professionalism and commitment are greatly appreciated and on behalf of the Board, I wish Gary well in the future."
