Wynn Resorts appoints Paul Liu to its Board of Directors

Wynn Resorts has announced the appointment of Paul Liu as a member of the operator's Board of Directors.

Liu has been appointed as an Independent Director and a Class I member of the Board.

Liu’s arrival expands the board to nine people. His appointment was effective as of August 3, 2023.

The new Board member is fluent in Chinese, and is a professional in hospitality and financial services – both in China and in the Asia Pacific region.

He was previously located in Shanghai where he was a Partner at Egon Zehnder.

At Egon Zehnder, Liu led the services practice in the Asia Pacific region with a focus on hotels and hospitality, serving multinational and Chinese companies.

From 1996-1999, Liu worked at the Bank of America as Managing Director of the Asia Capital Markets Group before founding Three On The Bund where he worked as Executive Director and CFO from 2000-2007.

Following this, Liu went on to work at Axons Concepts as a Chairman and CEO, from 2007 until now; holding a long tenure of 16 years at the firm in an executive position.

The announcement said Liu has, “an active interest in Sino-American relations and is a member of the National Committee on US-China Relations.”

Since 2005 Mr Liu has worked with the National Committee, to found and organize the Barnett-Oksenberg Lecture on Sino-American Relations, given in Shanghai.

Liu’s term will run until the 2024 annual meeting of shareholders.

Wynn Resorts previously announced extensions to the contracts of its CEO and CFO, as well as salary increases for each.
