Sports entertainment company Pro League Network (PLN) has concluded its seed funding round aimed at brand development and expansion. The company first launched in late 2022 and has since created “watch’n’wager” content that allows sportsbooks to “better monetize their peaks and valleys of schedule with compliant, regulated professional sports content.”
The seed round was led by several investment companies that included Roger Ehrenberg via IA Ventures and Eberg Capital.
Eberg Capital founder Roger Ehrenberg said the company is dedicated to aiding PLN in its growth plans.
He said, “PLN is at the forefront of creating a new kind of bettable entertainment. We've been impressed by the momentum they have generated across the industry and look forward to helping them grow.
PLN has also gained several advisors since its founding. Advisor Chris Grove took a moment to comment on his involvement with the company and on its future.
He said, “Realizing the full potential of legal sports betting in the US will require expanding the fundamental definition of sports betting, including expanding the sports we think about when we think about betting.
“PLN's mission of enabling and creating emerging sports for betting is key to the ability of sportsbooks to offer more fans more options more often.”
PLN Founders Mike Salvaris and Bill Yucatonis explained the company’s genesis and thanked key leaders for their contributions.
They said in a joint statement, “Our hypothesis in starting PLN was building on our years of experience in the gaming industry that regulated and unique live content programmed to fill gaps in the sporting calendar would find an audience among fans and bettors alike.
“The hugely positive response to the initial properties brought to market has been encouraging. We’re thankful to Roger Ehrenberg and his team for sharing our vision and enthusiasm for the market opportunity.”
