IGB approved licenses for 109 video gaming locations and more.

Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) has approved multiple measures including granting Hard Rock Casino in Rockford a sports wagering operator license and permitting it to have a sportsbook, as well as granting Seminole Hard Rock Digital approval as a sports wagering management service provider.

The IGB has also approved Hard Rock for a four-year retail and online Illinois sports betting license in conjunction with Hard Rock Rockford casino.

The casino must comply with IGB rules before sports wagering can be offered in person or online.

At the Board meeting, the IGB granted more than 233 new gaming licenses and related approvals for different verticals.

For video gaming, the IGB approved licenses for 109 video gaming locations, two level one casino occupational licenses, as well as 44 level two casino occupational licenses, 44 level two casino occupational licenses, 27 level two sports wagering occupational licenses and one casino supplier license.

Throughout the month of October in 2022, bettors in the state placed over $1bn on sports. Back in January, PointsBet launched its fourth retail sportsbook with Hawthorne Race Course in Illinois.

IGB Administrator Marcus D. Fruchter commented, “The Board and staff continue their important work to implement the landmark gaming expansion law and regulate Illinois’ robust and evolving statewide gaming industry in an ethical, transparent, compliant, and efficient manner.”
