Codere appoints Sonia Carabante as new Corporate Director

She brings 25 years of international experience to her new role.

Gaming multinational Codere has named Sonia Carabante to serve as its new Corporate Director of Commercial Strategy and Business Projects.

She will be responsible for providing leadership to key commercial strategy and growth projects, and will directly report to company CEO Gonzaga Higuero.

This is a newly created role within the group. Codere described this change as a “strategic moment” and said it is confident having a leader in this position will propel the group to a “new stage of consolidation and value generation.”

The company said in a statement, “With this appointment, Codere reaffirms its commitment to excellence in its business strategy and its determination to drive growth and efficiency in all areas of the organization.

"Sonia Carabante's leadership and experience will be fundamental pillars for the company's continued success in the competitive private gaming market. She will play a key role in global oversight of the marketing, CRM and product functions, in pursuit of the implementation of best practices in the company.”

Carabante holds a degree in Business Administration, as well as a MIBA and postgraduate degree in Business Management, Marketing and Foreign Trade.

During her 25-year career, she has worked for Cirsa, holding a leadership role as its Director of Customer Intelligence, Efficiency & Productivity.

Codere serves the private gaming sector throughout Latin America and Europe. The operator posted significant financial growth during its first fiscal quarter of this year.

Codere finished the quarter with a total cash position of $53.5m. Its Mexico division’s revenue increased year-over-year by 75%.
