The Pro League Network, a provider of emerging and niche sports to sportsbook operators, is expanding its professional mini golf World Putting League Championship.
The expansion comes ahead of its next championship tournament on June 26 and will make that event available for wagering in eight states, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Tennessee on DraftKings, Betfred and Action 247 (Tenn.), among other platforms.
With approval from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the World Putting League Championship is now available in the nation's first- and fifth-largest sports betting jurisdictions. The World Putting League Championship is also offered in Arizona, Tennessee, Colorado, Oregon, Kansas and Wyoming, bringing its addressable audience for wagering to more than 40%.
The World Putting League Championship has partnered with the Action Network to broadcast events live on its site.
Pro League Network and World Putting League Championship co-founders Bill Yucatonis and Mike Salvaris said, “Our upcoming WPL Championship will be our biggest one yet and is a clear sign of our vision – that fans want to wager on sports that are easy to understand, fun to watch and available during under-optimized times.
"The response to our first two tournaments has been really fun to see. We’re excited to reach more fans through our great partners at Betfred, DraftKings, Action247 and Action Network in next week’s tournament and beyond. After all, what could be more fun than betting a few dollars on mini golf during a weekday?”
The World Putting League Championship's most recent tournament averaged more than 65 minutes of live content per viewer.
Hosted at Aloha MiniGolf’s Island Course, the upcoming World Putting League Championship on June 26 will feature 12 of the world’s best putters competing in a group stage format with four groups of three players competing. The four group winners will advance to the championship round.
It will be broadcast live from 12 to 2pm Eastern Time on ActionNetwork.com and TheWorldPuttingLeague.com.
The Pro League Network was launched in 2022 to bring fun, “bettable” live sports to sportsbook operators. The company owns a portfolio of professionalized sports leagues produced for wagering. It produces the sport end-to-end, including regulatory, event management, livestreaming, data and promotional activities.
One of the goals of the Pro League Network is to help sportsbooks fill under-optimized dayparts of the sports betting calendar.
