Subject to Illinois Gaming Board approval, the venue will also offer retail sports betting in the future.

DraftKings has announced a new sportsbook location, opening at Chicago’s Wrigley Field later this month on June 27. Wrigley Field’s hospitality partner, Levy, will operate food and beverage services, while Marquee Development has been signed on as the real estate developer, on behalf of both DraftKings and the Chicago Cubs.

The sportsbook was first announced in September 2020, with a marketing deal pending the regulatory approval from the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB), as well as the commitment to DraftKings as the Cubs’ exclusive partner for both sports betting and daily fantasy sports.

The sportsbook will be situated on one of Wrigleyville’s busiest intersections, Addison Street & Sheffield Avenue, right at the corner of the stadium. The DraftKings entertainment venue will open initially as a sports bar and restaurant with “an extensive beverage program” and will later add retail sports betting, following IGB approval.

Michael Kibort, Senior Director, Retail Sportsbook at DraftKings, said, “Today marks a significant milestone in this multi-year project and it represents the shared vision and longstanding relationship DraftKings has established with the Chicago Cubs.”

Cubs fans will be able to visit the sports bar, planned to comprise 17,000 square feet, in both public and semi-private spaces for group bookings of up to 25 guests. A Jim Beam bar will be featured, along with American bar fare and traditional gameday foods like Chef David Burns’ menu items, Colossal Hot Dog and Prime Rib Sandwich.

Gensler, global architect and design firm, intends for a 2,000 square-foot video screen to be one of the largest in the Midwest, with the ability to simultaneously show up to 25 games. Glass facades will give sports fans a view of the action outside the sports bar as well as of the games being shown inside.

Jeff Denlea, VP of Hospitality Strategy for Levy at Wrigley Field, said, “From the ballpark and rooftops to Gallagher Way and now the DraftKings Sportsbook, there are so many ways for fans to experience Wrigley Field.”
