The new casino will have more than 300,000 square feet of gaming space.

Great Canadian Entertainment will open its latest resort, Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, on June 20. The $1bn destination will feature several restaurants, as well as a modern casino.

Great Canadian Entertainment described the debut as a “landmark development” that “will revolutionize Toronto’s entertainment landscape, creating an exhilarating experience for gaming enthusiasts and entertainment lovers alike.”

Company CEO Matthew Anfinson commented further by saying, “We are thrilled to announce that our highly anticipated new casino will open on June 20.

“With meticulous attention to detail, state-of-the-art amenities, and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences, our landmark entertainment resort is a game-changer in Toronto.”

The new Vegas-style casino will be home to 328,000 square feet of gaming space. Great Canadian Toronto will offer players 145 table games and more than 4,800 slot machines. The destination will be located adjacent to Woodbine Racetrack.

Along with the vast casino space, guests will be able to access sports betting kiosks, exclusive VIP rooms and a 400-room hotel on the 33-acre property. The site will also feature a live entertainment venue with enough seating for 5,000 people.

The grand opening of Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto marks the 13th location the company has opened in the Canadian province of Ontario. The group currently operates 12 casino resort locations within the province, including the recently opened Pickering Casino Resort Hotel, a 275-room resort just east of downtown Toronto.

Pickering features a 2,500-seat theatre and event space, as well as a Great Canadian Sportsbook and 96,000 square feet of casino space. Players have access to more than 90 live table games, 140 deal terminals and 2,200 slot machines.
