This is the second BetMGM release outside of the US mainland.

Sports betting and iGaming operator BetMGM has expanded its digital reach by launching its mobile sports betting app in Puerto Rico. The release comes through its continued partnership with Casino del Mar at La Concha Resort.

This launch marks BetMGM’s second release to extend beyond the US mainland. BetMGM is the first operator to release a mobile sports betting app in Puerto Rico. Players throughout the island can now place mobile bets on pre-game, live-play, futures and parlay.

Company CEO Adam Greenblatt said the company is excited to offer its mobile app to Puerto Rico players.

He commented, "BetMGM is ecstatic to become the first operator to deliver mobile sports betting to Puerto Rico.

"This great collaboration between local officials and Casino del Mar provides a safe, responsible and entertaining product accessible from anywhere on the island."

To date, BetMGM has extended its digital footprint to include more than 25 jurisdictions. During the past year, the brand launched in six North American markets, including New York, Louisiana, Illinois, Ontario, Kansas and Maryland.

It recently opened four retail sportsbook locations as well, including Nationals Park in Washington DC, Casino del Mar in Puerto Rico, The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and at State Farm Stadium, which hosted Super Bowl LVII.

Casino del Mar General Manager Sigfrido De Jesús said, "Today, Puerto Rico is once again at the forefront of the sports betting industry. In addition to being an attraction for sports fans, this will have a positive impact on the revenues of the Treasury.

“We are pioneers in the sports wagering industry, and we are elevating sports to the next level by developing trustworthy and user-friendly technology tools. Creating this technological alliance with a company of BetMGM's caliber has allowed both Casino del Mar and the government to learn about innovation in the betting industry."

Puerto Rico first opened its regulated sports betting market in February 2022.
