The compliance software will aid with daily fantasy sports checks, as well as future sports betting offerings.

Underdog, operator of daily fantasy sports and online gaming, has selected GeoComply to provide geolocation services for its North American business. GeoComply, based in Vancouver, works to minimize fraud and risk with cybersecurity solutions.

Underdog has already finalized market access agreements in states where online sports betting is legal.

The software company recently acquired fellow compliance solutions company, OneComply, earlier this month. Underdog will employ GeoComply’s Solus product to monitor its fantasy sports operations, as well as for sports betting products in the future.

Sam Basile, GeoComply’s VP of Business Development & Licensing, said, “We are thrilled to be working with Underdog. With its customer focus and commitment to product innovation and compliance, it has quickly become one of the market leaders in the daily fantasy sports market.”

GeoComply’s Solus product runs on HTML5 browsers and requires no additional downloads of apps or plugins from players to run. Company data provided states: over 80% of players go through geolocation checks in three seconds; up to 98% geolocation pass rates are delivered; and 99.6% of IP spoofing is detected.

Underdog’s Senior Director of Operations, Matt Garrigan, commented, “We are proud to work with partners like GeoComply to meet our commitments to our customers and regulators. This partnership is a key component of ensuring that our customers benefit from a safe, compliant, and frictionless experience."
