Las Vegas’ Silverton Casino Hotel will host another summer of Mermaid School. During the season, aspiring mermaids from ages 7 to adult can spend the summer in the casino's 117,000-gallon aquarium while sporting a mermaid tail.
Mermaid School will run on select days during the summer from 8:30AM to 10AM.
The 90-minute course includes a behind-the-scenes tour, a warm-up class and a swimming session in the hotel’s notable aquarium. Those who finish Mermaid School will also earn a certificate of completion.
Those in the program can practice alongside the aquarium’s marine life, which includes thousands of sharks, stingrays and tropical fish. Mermaid aficionados can enroll in one of two classes offered at the casino, and can choose between the Mermaid School for Kids and Mermaid School for Adults and Families.
Kids can enjoy a celebratory scoop of gelato, while adults will receive a mimosa at the end of the class.
The casino noted that at least one parent must be present with minor students who are enrolled.
Silverton went on to add, “All equipment, including goggles, is provided. Participants need only bring a swimsuit or towel. Reservations must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
“There is a minimum of two participants per class and a maximum of six for Mermaid School for Kids, and four for Mermaid School for Adults and Families.”
In addition to its aquatic scenery, Silverton Casino Hotel is home to 90,000 square feet of gaming space with a variety of slot machines and table games. The destination also offers its guests access to 300 deluxe rooms and suites as part of its resort.
