Australian-based operator PointsBet has launched a new US horseracing app in 25 states.
The app was created via a multi-year partnership with 1/st Technology back in October 2022. 1/st Technology is a part of the business division of The Stronach Group, one of North America's thoroughbred racing companies and it agreed to power the wagering platform for PointsBet Racing.
The extended list of states where the new PointsBet racing app is available includes: Alabama, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
In addition to this, PointsBet currently has advance-deposit wagering license applications pending in multiple other states, presumably to cover all states of the US.
The app will feature content from each leg of the Triple Crown with over 180 tracks total across Australia, the US, UK, Ireland, Hong Kong and Japan. PointsBet Racing will include live streaming and replay, deep link integration across PointsBet digital products, new user educational tools and more.
Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said, "The launch of PointsBet Racing marks a significant milestone in our efforts to expand our product portfolio and capture the tremendous potential of the US horseracing market.
"We are optimistic about replicating the success we have seen in mature global betting markets where racing is a huge engagement channel next to sports. This new offering will contribute to the growth of online horseracing in the US and we are excited to get live in advance of one of the most important racing events of the year."
