Intralot’s US-based subsidiary, Intralot, Inc., has signed a three-year deal with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) to offer players throughout the Canadian province its Orion sports betting platform.
Through the partnership, the company will also offer the BCLC access to other relevant managed services as part of its next-generation platform, which will support the lottery’s retail sportsbook.
Intralot is set to launch the sports betting solution in more than 700 self-service kiosks, as well as in 3,400 clerk operated terminals across the province. The deployment will include all BCLC’s retail network Photon X retail terminals and GameStation self-service terminals, which are scheduled to hit the market this winter.
Nikos Nikolakopoulos,Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: “We are excited to extend our partnership with BCLC in the sports betting sector.
“We are looking forward to a close cooperation with the Lottery in order to provide an enhanced retail player experience and responsibly drive the Lottery’s growth to further benefit the British Columbia community.”
This is the latest in a series of North American lottery partnerships. Intralot and the Ohio Lottery Commission recently signed a deal that provided the state with access to Intralot’s Orion Sportsbook. Ohio opened its regulated sports betting market on January 1.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, Intralot will “utilize current lottery equipment and infrastructure to facilitate the sports betting journey for retailers and customers” in the Buckeye State.
Currently, the company holds a provisional license issued by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, which enables it to operate under the agreement with the state lottery.
