Genius Sports has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors. Ken Kay will join the board as its Independent Director, chair of the Audit Committee and member of Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Michael Messara will serve as the company’s Independent Board Observer.
Both will step into their respective roles on March 8.
David Levy, Genius Sports Chair of the Board, said; “We are delighted to have Ken join the Board and take the lead as our new Audit Chair. Ken’s diverse expertise and depth of knowledge will undoubtedly serve the Company extremely well as we continue to develop products and services that sit at the center of the sports data ecosystem.”
He said about Messara’s appointment: “We are pleased to welcome Michael as an independent observer to our Board, demonstrating Caledonia’s continued support and commitment to Genius, as it has from our original listing.”
Kay brings a wealth of financial and operational experience to his new role. Before his appointment to Genius’ board, he has held various CFO positions for several global and Fortune 500 Companies. Kay joins Genius with more than 30 years of experience.

Messara is currently a long-term shareholder with the company and since 2006 has worked for Caledonia Investments as its Co-Chief Investment Officer.
