SimWin is preparing for a spring 2023 launch.

SimWin Sports, a virtual sports league, has announced the appointment of sports sales and marketing executive Steve Ziff as Special Advisor. SimWin offers both daily and season-long fantasy tournaments, where fans can engage by collecting, trading and managing player NFTs.

Ziff’s professional sports team experience portfolio includes C-Suite sales and marketing roles with the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Diego Padres and Florida Panthers.

At SimWin, Ziff will develop new ways to best interact with and communicate messages to teams, from a league-to-team standpoint.

The metaverse-based sports league was founded in part by CEO David J Ortiz, who previously led the development of EA Sports’ Madden NFL franchise. SimWin touts a portfolio of celebrity and athlete ownership groups, including team owners like Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Magic.

Ortiz says of Ziff’s joining, “Steve’s experience in the world of professional sports marketing is critical to our success. He will guide our ownership groups in generating interest, and ultimately selling advertising, sponsorships, merchandise and more, as we create new opportunities for growth within the SimWin Sports Metaverse.”

Most recently, Ziff was EVP/CMO at Thrill One Sports and Entertainment, where he was responsible for traditional marketing and communications functions and oversaw touring, consumer products and athlete development.

Ziff said, “SimWin Sports’ simulation sports leagues are nothing short of revolutionary for the fantasy sports and Web3 industries. Everything about this project is exemplary and trailblazing, and I look forward to sharing my experience with their leadership and team owners to create an ecosystem of success.”
