The Dimension lottery product features a holographic effect and was developed in the UK.

Scientific Games, a lottery and gaming supplier, has debuted its advanced lottery instant scratch game printing technology for the first time, at the company’s Atlanta headquarters. This is seen by Scientific Games as the next phase in its instant game expansion plan.

This new instant game technology will provide lotteries in the US and Canada with its Dimension products which feature a 3D holographic-like effect.

Scientific Games President of the Americas and Global Instant Products John Schulz commented: “Scientific Games continues to lead the way in specialty and HD digital printing technology to innovate new lottery games for today’s players.

“Our global teams adopt trends from inside and outside the industry, exploring what’s next, using analytics and testing new products with player research groups.

“We’re continuing to advance game innovation through our long-term technology expansion plan so our customers can offer their players the most exciting scratch play experiences in the industry and drive sustainable revenues for lottery good cause funding.”

The technology for the company’s Dimension originated in Leeds, UK and was developed by Scientific Games’ innovation teams.

These teams were tasked with coming up with a product that kept up with the latest trends in higher-end consumer packaged goods.

Dimension was originally intended to strategically enhance the company’s games in Europe and has since spread to its North American operations. Dimension is now available in several US jurisdictions: used by the Colorado Lottery, New Mexico Lottery and South Carolina Education Lottery.

The Dimension technology produces holographic patterns on instant scratch games, including the popular Cracked Ice and Stella brands.

Initial interest from North American lotteries had been for a game with a $10+ price point and Scientific Games invested tens of millions into this project.

The company has five instant game production facilities around the world and its annual production capacity exceeds 53 billion instant scratch tickets.
