BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse sportsbooks, operated by Rush Street Interactive (RSI), have introduced a new version of the squares game, called Basketball Squares. The new title was developed after the successful launch of NFL Squares and is tailored for NBA fans and bettors.
Basketball Squares functions the same way as its NFL counterpart. Similar to NFL Squares, the Basketball Squares’ board features 100 squares.
Each represents a combination of final game scores and contains two single-digital numbers. To win, a square must have the correct combination based on the number of points scored by the visiting team and home team.
Players can earn $20 in bonus money by winning a standard square. They can also boost the squares and potentially win cash prizes of $25, $50, $100, $1,000 or $10,000. The exact amount is revealed after the booster square is declared a winner.
RSI CEO Richard Schwartz explained the company’s motivation to offer sports fans an NBA squares game version.
He commented: "With the fast-pace [sic] style of play and high scoring of NBA games this season, our Basketball Squares game will offer RSI's bettors a thrilling experience and exciting way to win more.
"Compared to football, there are more lead changes and scoring swings in basketball, which will make watching fourth quarter action even more engaging for our bettors this season."
RSI offers real-money mobile and online titles in selected states throughout the US, including Pennsylvania, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Connecticut, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, Iowa, West Virginia, Arizona and Louisiana.
The online gaming and sports entertainment company has broadened its North American market reach to include Ontario, Canada, as well as in Colombia and Mexico.
