The state opened today for in-person legal sports wagering.

Sportradar Group has been granted a Temporary Sports Wagering Vendor License by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. The newly acquired approval in Massachusetts brings the company’s licensing total to 44 in the continent of North America.

Sportradar is a global sports technology company that services sports betting operators, sports federations, news media and consumer platforms. The company’s reach extends throughout North America, including several US states, as well as territory in Canada.

Its Sportradar Integrity Services subsidiary supplies sports integrity solutions to more than 150 sports federations, leagues, law enforcement and state authorities.

Sportradar has grown throughout the US due to other supplier license approvals during the last couple of months. The company recently gained the green light by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, for example, to bring its operations to the Buckeye State.

Ohio's regulated sports betting market opened earlier this month. Massachusetts goes live today for legal in-person sports betting.

Interim Chief Financial Officer Ulrich Harmuth said: “The financial results in the third quarter demonstrated that Sportradar consistently has managed to grow almost three times faster than the underlying betting market and our growing scale has led to margin expansion – as indicated by the US segment turning profitable in the third quarter.”

Massachusetts residents can also look forward to a new retail sportsbook location, due to a partnership between Caesars Entertainment and Raynham Park. The new sportsbook is the first Caesars location in the state and will open south of Boston, pending approval by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Once completed, the 30,000 square-foot facility will take its place among other large free-standing race and sports wagering locations around the US.
