The ambitious operator is focusing on its retail sports betting operations during 2023.

Fanatics Betting and Gaming, the retail sports betting division of Fanatics digital sports platform, has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA). The Fanatics Sportsbook is partnered with the Washington Commanders and has become the first retail sportsbook to open in an NFL stadium.

Fanatics is initially focusing on rolling out its sports betting platform via retail operations, with mobile to follow later in 2023. It joins over 45 companies and 125 leading sports betting brands in IBIA.

The new and ambitious sportsbook was keen to show it was committed to responsible gaming standards. Fanatics Betting and Gaming SVP of Trading Andrew Wright commented: “Partnering with the IBIA is an important step in providing our customers with a secure trading environment as we begin to roll out our sports betting platform in 2023.

“IBIA is an important international institution that monitors the global betting markets of their regulated members providing much-needed analysis and monitoring of potential betting irregularities.”

The IBIA is ‘run by operators for operators,’ to protect its members from corruption through collective action. It has a monitoring and alert network that acts as a highly efficient anti-corruption tool that detects and reports suspicious activity on all of its member's betting markets.

IBIA CEO Khalid Ali commented: “IBIA is delighted to welcome a major globally recognized brand into our association. Fanatics Betting and Gaming’s decision to join IBIA is a major boost for the association in North America and follows an increasing number of US-based businesses becoming members of IBIA.”

Fanatics follows quickly in the footsteps of Simplebet, which joined the IBIA only last week.
