The amount of iGaming operators active in the province doubled from Q2 to Q3.

The iGaming Ontario (iGO) market performance for Q3 of the 2022-23 fiscal year has been published and shows a total gaming revenue of $457m. A remarkable $11.5bn in wagers was placed from October 1 through to December 31, 2022.

The Ontarian iGaming market launched in April 2022 (Q1). Its performance is being closely analyzed by industry experts as the Canadian province is viewed as one of the most exciting and lucrative North American markets.

The data, provided by Ontario iGaming, showed that 36 operators were active in the province during Q3 and 68 gaming websites were in use. On these sites, there were 910,000 active player accounts with an average monthly spend of $167; this showed an 18% rise from Q2 2022.

This was an undeniably successful quarter for Ontarian iGaming with a 71% increase in revenue from Q2 (July 1 to September 30). Wagers increased by a staggering 91% from the previous quarter – and this $11.5bn figure does not include free bonuses.

The number of operators doubled from the previous quarter in Q3 2022, showing the confidence that gaming companies have in Ontario’s iGaming market.

One iGaming operator to enter Ontario during this lucrative quarter was PressEnter Group, whose brand, NitroCasino was already live for other Canadian players.

PressEnter Group CEO Lahcene Merzoug spoke glowingly of the Ontarian market when discussing this launch. He said: “Ontario is a market with great potential for operators that can deliver engaging, entertaining player involvement and that is where we excel. We look forward to seeing players from Ontario enjoy the high levels of entertainment that our brands deliver.”
