Bettors statewide will have access to playoff wagering options through the sportsbook when it launches on 1 January.

DraftKings is set to debut its online sportsbook app in Ohio as the state opens for regulated sports betting, pending licensure and regulatory approvals.

Buckeye State players can access and bet on same-game parlays, player props and special odds boost selections through DraftKings' sportsbook. Bettors will be able to wager on a variety of winter sporting events, including the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship, as well as on professional sports leagues like the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB and MLS.

DraftKings' Co-Founder and President Matt Kalish described the launch as an ideal way to celebrate the coming New Year.

He commented: “We’re excited to ring in the New Year with the launch of our top-rated DraftKings Sportsbook app in Ohio.

“Ohioans are passionate sports fans with hometown pride, and we’re thrilled to offer them a variety of ways to have more skin in the game ahead of the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship and the NFL playoffs.”

DraftKings continues to grow within the US and was recently selected by Amazon to represent the brand as a sponsor for Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football (TNF). Both have agreed to a multi-year collaboration that will give football fans access to exclusive betting offers and pregame content on Thursday nights.

In addition to putting together pregame content, DraftKings and Amazon will work in tandem to offer players TNF-themed same-game parlays they can access through the DraftKings Sportsbook app.
